WAVERLY ROAD SEWER PROJECT
Schedule for August 9, 2010 and until further notice
Sewer installation has been completed. There will be no activity until further notice.
General Information
The Waverly Road Sewer Project includes a new 30” sewer line to replace the existing 21” sewer line in Waverly Road from Greene Street to Turnpike Street. This sewer line needs to be upgraded mainly due to increased sewer flows from recent development in the southern end of Town. These sewer flows are pumped up Turnpike Street and eventually flow into Waverly Road.
The Town has hired the DeFelice Corporation to install the new sewer line and complete all associated work. Work is scheduled to begin in April , 2010 and will take several months to complete. A large detour will be set up to help motorists get around the work area. The detour will include Mass Ave to Chickering Road to Andover Street to Route 114. Another detour using Rte 114 W, to Rte 495 N to Mass Ave will also be in place. Follow detour signs.
Also included in the project are some new drainage facilities, sidewalks, and several new water main valves. The contractor will pave trenches weekly as construction progresses. All disturbed areas will be paved in 2010 and will be allowed to go through a settlement phase.
The contractor will return in the spring of 2011 to re-construct the roadway. This involves grinding up the pavement and re-paving the entire travelled area.
