The results of our community survey ranks traffic management as a very high concern among residents. The police department has recognized these concerns and has developed a three-prong approach to traffic management that includes enforcement, education and engineering.
Every officer is charged with enforcement duties while on patrol. Our Safety Officer continually plans enforcement programs that incorporate an educational component that is designed to modify basic traffic behavior through increasing awareness to the unsafe conditions that are the result of inappropriate behavior.
In addition, the Department also reviews any road abnormalities that may contribute to negative traffic patterns and works with other Town Departments to achieve optimum road conditions while maintaining the character of the Town.
