Only about half of all crimes are ever reported. We can't solve a problem for you that we don't know about.
Eyewitness information is the key to solving most crimes. WE NEED YOUR HELP. No suspicious activity is too trivial to report. An anonymous tip is better than no information at all.
If the crime you are reporting is a situation that threatens human life or property and demands immediate attention call 9-1-1 immediately. The enhanced 9-1-1 system enables the dispatcher to know where you are, even if you can't speak. An enhancement to the 9-1-1 system allows for a Silent Call Processing procedure with 9-1-1 Silent Call Processing, all you have to do is call 9-1-1 on your regular touch tone telephone. For additional information on the Silent Call Processing procedure go to our 9-1-1 information page.
We encourage you to call 9-1-1 as a trained and certified dispatcher will take your call and provide the link to responding public safety agency units in the field.
When you call
You may be asked some questions by the dispatcher. Be as factual as possible. If you don't know, say so. Let the dispatcher hang up first.

Response Time
Sometimes we cannot immediately respond to your call. We must prioritize our call for service and respond to apparent danger to human life first, in-process crimes second, then property crimes. We will handle your problem as soon as possible. The more information you provide during your call, the better we will be able to properly evaluate the response priority.
Call the Police Department quickly when you see suspicious activity. The longer you wait, the harder it is to catch the criminal
