A vacancy exists in the Division of Community Delopment for one (1) Conservation Field Inspector on a full-time basis.
Summary of Duties:
The Town of North Andover is seeking candidates for the position of Field Inspector to support the Conservation Department and Conservation Commission administering State
Wetlands Protection Act, Town environmental bylaws, and management of Town resources. Duties to include site inspections; managing open space and agricultural lease agreements; reviewing and analyzing building permit and project applications; monitoring construction activities; responding to citizen inquiries; drafting orders and preparing enforcement notices; attending and participating in public hearings.
Qualifications Requires:
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Wetland Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field; min. 2 yrs experience in natural resource or conservation
operations and management; ability to delineate a wetland; knowledge of federal, state and town environmental laws and regulations; ability to interpret technical specifications
plans; ability to interpret and enforce rules and regulations firmly and impartially; excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated strong computer skills;
willingness and ability to endure physical exertion and exposure to varied seasonal weather conditions. Position is full-time and includes night meetings.
Salary: Range is $35,210 - $45,750 plus benefits.
