Streets Maintenance
The following streets were wholly or partially reconstructed and repaved in FY 05: Bradford Street, Chestnut Street, Oak Avenue, So. Bradford Street and Sutton Street.

The following streets were wholly or partially resurfaced: Campbell Road, Dale Street, East Water Street, Gilbert Street, Glencrest Drive, Granville Lane, Grosvenor Avenue, Stevens Street, Surrey Drive, Wildwood Circle, and Wood Avenue. Sidewalks were constructed on Dale Street and Salem Street. Approximately 8,300 feet of Asphalt berm was installed in various locations. Patching of pavement was done throughout the Town to eliminate defects and potholes. The shoulder areas along sidewalk and roadway projects were loamed and seeded.

Catch basins and manholes were rebuilt or repaved as required. Spot drainage repairs were conducted throughout Town as required. A total of 500 catch basins were cleaned by machine or by hand.

Roadside lawn damage due to snow plowing operations were repaired in April. Over 15 miles of roadside brush was cut. Approximately 90 lane miles of centerline and sideline and all crosswalks were repainted. Over 284 lane miles of roadway were swept of winter sand.

Bids were received by the electric, telephone and cable utilities to place all the overhead wires underground in the Old Center area. The Old Center roadway reconstruction project is completed to the 100% design stage. Bids will be received by the Mass Highway Department in the fall of 2005.

The Mosquito Brook Watereshed study is complete. Design of replacement culverts on Winter Street, Foster Street and Lost Pond Lane is ongoing.
