Machine Shop Village: This project is for the Machine Shop Village Streetscape Improvement existing condition survey and assessment of the Machine Shop Village streetscape, and a Master Plan for upgrading the sidewalks, curbs, lighting and landscaping (trees) in the village. This office has assumed the task of project managers and a request to the Community Preservation Committee was approved for funding this project in the amount of $22,000 at the May 2004 Town Meeting. The office of Carol R. Johnson Associates was hired to commence this study and produced the Master Plan.
An additional amount of $250,000 was approved through CPC at the May 2005 Town Meeting for Phase 1 of this project. In July proposals were received for the survey work and the contract was awarded to Martinage Engineering Associates. Inc of Reading. Martinage Engineering started the survey work throughout the Machine Shop Area in late August, 2005. Proposals were also received for Landscape Design Services. The office of Carol R. Johnson Associates was hired to produce the Landscape Design Study and will
continue to work with the Town on this project.
Informational meetings have been conducted to provide the public and homeowners in the Machine Shop Village area with information about the project as well as to answer any questions.
Additional meeting dates will be posted as they are scheduled.
